The Bharatiya Janata Party has opined that the Bharat Jodo Yatra being taken out by Congress leaders in various places is akin to an aircraft without a pilot. In Uttarakhand, it has become an example of an exhibition of strength by the party’s regional satraps and questions also being raised at the purpose of the Bharat Jodo Yatra, said the BJP.
The BJP State media in-charge Manveer Singh Chauhan averred that presently even the Congress party workers appear to be confused about who is running the shows being staged at different locations and for what purpose. “In Dehradun, the party leader Pritam Singh attempted to show his strength while in Haridwar the veteran Congress leader Harish Rawat is trying to exhibit his strength. These shows being held in segments are not for any public welfare issue but for showing the existence of the Congress and more of a competitive game. Through this, the regional Congress leaders are attempting to attract the attention of their party’s high command. There is also a tussle regarding the leadership of the Congress in Uttarakhand. The Pradesh Congress Committee president is not aware of the programmes of the party leaders while in some cases he is not even being invited,” said Chauhan.
The BJP State media in-charge further said that the Congress is not doing justice to its role of a responsible opposition. The party is distracted from public issues due to its ongoing infighting. The State government is trying to develop Uttarakhand as a model State by 2025 and the opposition also needs to cooperate in the development by giving better suggestions, he added.
