The president of Uttarakhand BJP Mahendra Bhatt has condemned the ruckus created by the opposition in the parliament on Wednesday and said that it reflects the real face of those engaging in rhetoric of holding copies of constitution in their hands. He said that those who are talking about saving the constitution had stifled democracy 50 years ago by imposing an emergency in the country.
Congratulating Om Birla for becoming the Speaker of Lok Sabha for the second consecutive term, Bhatt said that his election is the victory of democracy in parliament. He also lauded the Lok Sabha speaker for bringing a resolution on emergency. Bhatt said that lakhs of people were jailed during democracy and the rights of people were snatched away. He said that the MPs of Congress party created commotion in Lok Sabha because the party was responsible for imposing emergency in the country.
