Bhatt condemns shooting incident in Haridwar involving current & and former MLAs

The Bharatiya Janata Party State president Mahendra Bhatt has condemned the recent shooting incident in Haridwar district involving former MLA Pranav Singh ‘Champion’ and Khanpur MLA Umesh Kumar. Following reports of the firing at the office of Kumar on Sunday afternoon by Singh, Bhatt stated that the party does not support any unlawful or unconstitutional behaviour. He stated that he has discussed the issue with chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and assured strict action if necessary. He said, “The BJP neither permits violations of the law nor endorses activities that go against the constitution. Our party has always prioritises discipline and lawfulness. We have instructed all party workers to maintain harmony and operate within the boundaries of the law. The constitution and the law are of utmost importance to us.” Bhatt also clarified that the party will not hesitate to take action against any member involved in acts that tarnish its image. On the question of whether the BJP will take any action against Singh, he said that the police are investigating the matter and further action will be taken by them as per the law. Besides this, he said that the BJP has a zero-tolerance policy towards indiscipline and disorder and he has talked to the CM about this matter and further proceedings will be done accordingly.
