The Bharatiya Janata Party State president Mahendra Bhatt met Union Transport minister Nitin Gadkari in Rishikesh on Tuesday and invited him to the Char Dham Yatra. He requested Gadkari to undertake the pilgrimage by road and the Union minister agreed to it. Bhatt thanked Gadkari for the pace of execution of all weather road and other projects in the State. He said that these projects will boost tourism and commercial activities while enhancing employment.
Bhatt also thanked the minister for speeding up construction of the Dehradun-Delhi elevated road. He further said that pending proposals for reopening national highways in the mountainous areas damaged by disasters should be taken up on priority basis. Gadkari assured Bhatt of considering and taking necessary actions on his demands.
