Bharatiya Janata Party State president and Rajya Sabha MP Mahendra Bhatt said that people should contribute to building a self-reliant India by supporting the Vocal for Local campaign during Deepawali. Extending greetings to residents and migrants of Uttarakhand, Bhatt urged everyone to purchase local and indigenous products while celebrating the festival. In his message, Bhatt wished all citizens a healthy and prosperous life and said that the festival of lights inspires people to remove all forms of darkness from their lives.
He said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the leadership of chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Uttarakhand continues to move towards new stages of progress. He prayed that the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi bring growth and prosperity to every household, business and field in the State. Bhatt said that India’s goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047 can only be achieved through self-reliance, with Vocal for Local as its core principle.
He appealed to people to prefer local or indigenous products during Deepawali and other festivals, saying that purchasing earthen lamps, flowers and traditional items supports local artisans and strengthens the economy. He expressed hope that the coming year will contribute significantly to collective progress and the vision of a developed India.
