BHP president meets Chouhan, praises Centre’s rural reforms

The national president of Bharthiya Hindu Parivar, S Selvaganesh along with the national general secretary incharge (Organosation and Administration) Bhargav Mallappa met the Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Shivraj Singh Chouhan and lauded the Centre’s farmer-centric rural reforms.
The meeting cantered on advancing sustainable agricultural practices, expanding financial inclusion and further enhancing market access for farmers. Both leaders acknowledged the government’s proactive initiatives aimed at modernising agriculture, promoting climate-resilient farming and ensuring greater income stability for rural households.
Selvaganesh commended the Centre’s policy-driven approach to agricultural reforms and rural empowerment. He highlighted that the government’s emphasis on technology adoption, capacity building, and structured institutional support has created new opportunities for farmers across regions.
“The Government of India has demonstrated a clear and consistent commitment to the welfare of farmers. The focus on sustainability, financial access and market integration is strengthening the foundations of rural prosperity,” Selvaganesh said after the meeting.
Mallappa hailed the government’s inclusive outreach and consultative approach. “Engagement between policymakers and grassroots representatives reflects the government’s dedication to ensuring that development initiatives reach every rural household. The vision for a resilient and self-reliant agricultural sector is evident,” he stated.
They discussed issues related to Tamil Nadu farmers and ways to increase their income.
The interaction underscored a shared resolve to build on ongoing reforms and further support India’s farming community through collaborative efforts aligned with national development priorities.
