Biotech scientist receives Asian Excellence Award

Uttarakhand Biotechnology Council (Biotech) scientist Manindra Mohan Sharma has been awarded the Asian Excellence Award 2022 in Kathmandu (Nepal). The award was presented to him at a function recently by the former chief minister of Lumbini province Shankar Pokharel for his excellent work in science education, research and environment. As a scientist, Sharma is working under the guidance and direction of the council’s director Rajendra Dobhal.
Sharma said that this award was given to 30 persons from nine countries including Malaysia, India, Mexico, Indonesia, Nepal, Singapore, Philippines, Mauritius and Sri Lanka for their commendable work in various fields. In the past, Sharma has also received various awards including Young Scientist Award twice, Global Green Award, Seva Ratna Samman and Yuva Prerak Samman. At present, he is working for the promotion of science education, research and environmental protection among youth in addition to research work. Laxman Basnet of SAARC Education Nepal, director of Nepal Tourism department Himmat Singh, former Foreign minister of Malaysia Manimaran Shuppiah and others were also present in the function. Following the presentation of the award, the biotech council director Rajendra Dobhal and all the staff have congratulated Sharma on the achievement.
