BIS concludes two-day mentor training programme in Dehradun

The two-day mentor training programme of Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) concluded in Dehradun on Friday. Mentors from standard clubs across Uttarakhand and nearby states participated in the programme. The director of BIS, Dehradun, Saurabh Tiwari inaugurated the programme and welcomed the attendees. He explained the objectives and relevance of the training. The BIS joint directors Sachin Chaudhary and Neelam Singh spoke on the quality ecosystem and led a session on lesson plan activities respectively. The BIS assistant director Saurabh Chaurasia also shared information on managing standard club activities through online platforms. MLA Savita Kapoor also attended the event as the chief guest and the Dehradun district Panchayat president Madhu Chauhan joined as the special guest.. Kapoor addressed the participants and acknowledged the mentors’ role in spreading awareness about quality among students. She appreciated the BIS initiative of standard clubs and encouraged teachers to help students identify quality products and understand the importance of Indian standards. BIS officials also conducted group discussions, interactive activities, quizzes and workshops during this two-day programme. The director said that this two-day training supported BIS’s ongoing campaign to raise public awareness about quality and aimed to strengthen the functioning of standard clubs in educational institutions.
