The Dehradun branch of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) organised a two- day capsule course programme in SIIDCUL,Haridwar in which representatives of 25 manufacturers of cables from Uttarakhand , Uttar Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh participated.
On the first day of the programme, senior director and head of the Dehradun branch, Sudhir Bishnoi spoke in detail about the guidelines regarding the standards of cables and the testing of the products. The deputy director Neelam Singh explained the requirements of IS 694 IS 1554 Part 1, including product- specific guidelines and record- keeping.
A workshop was also held on the first day of the capsule course programme. Among those present was secretary of SIIDCUL Manufacturers Association Harendra Garg.
