Bisht demands introspection on Congress performance in ULB polls

Former cabinet minister and senior leader of Congress party, Hira Singh Bisht has stressed on review and in-depth discussion within the party on reasons for defeat of the party candidates in the recent elections of the municipal corporations of the State.
He said that the review of the entire process of ticket distribution, campaign and strategy of the party in the local bodies’ poll is needed. Bisht expressed surprise on the reports that the party leadership has threatened to take action on those in favour of the review of the party’s performance. He claimed that many tickets of councillors in Dehradun were changed at the last moment and tickets were given to the persons who were not associated with the party and had no base.
Bisht also expressed annoyance at the fact that advice of veteran Congressmen was ignored in ticket distribution.
