BJP accuses Congress of spreading rumours about China border

Sunday, 11 June 2023 | PNS | DEHRADUN

Taking a dig at the Congress central leadership and its leaders in Uttarakhand, the Bharatiya Janata Party has said that those who were holding secret meeting in the Chinese embassy during the Galwan conflict and have taken considerable donation from the Chinese are now preaching about patriotism. The BJP State president Mahendra Bhatt said that the propaganda being spread from Delhi to Dehradun by the Congress regarding the border with China in Uttarakhand is highly condemnable. “Congress leader Rahul Gandhi defames India abroad while the party insults and bravery of the nation’s armed forces. The statements made by Congress leaders regarding the border with China in Uttarakhand are baseless and irresponsible.

Regarding the border dispute with China, the Congress should first check its own history. Due to the shortsightedness of the Congress governments, about 38,000 square kilometres of India territory was taken by China. Since Prime Minister Narendra Modi assumed charge in 2014 not an inch of Indian land has been taken by any other nation. As far as construction in Chinese occupied land is concerned, it should be understood that China has attempted such constructions mostly in areas which it had occupied during the terms of the Congress governments,” said Bhatt.

The BJP State president further said that those who are spreading baseless allegations about Galwan and Doklam on the basis of incomplete information should remember that when Indian soldiers were facing the Chinese army, their top leader Rahul Gandhi was holding a secret meeting in the Chinese embassy. He said that while the top leadership of the Congress defames India abroad, the national and State leaders of the party insult the valour of the nation’s armed forces by spreading confusion about the status of the border.
