The Bharatiya Janata Party’s State media in-charge Manveer Singh Chauhan has accused Yamunotri MLA Sanjay Dobhal of tampering with the voter list in Badkot municipality. Chauhan alleged that fictitious names were added to the list, enabling outsiders to cast fake votes during Thursday’s polling.
According to Chauhan, approximately 50 per cent of the votes cast were fraudulent. He claimed that about 4,000 to 5,000 fake votes were recorded in the municipality, whose total population is only 10,300. Chauhan further alleged that Dobhal orchestrated this manipulation to secure a victory for his brother, who is a candidate for the Badkot municipal council chairman. He accused the MLA of employing unethical tactics to influence the election outcome.
