Though the top leadership of the Congress in Uttarakhand is questioning the benefit to the State from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent visit to the Kumaon region, its Dharchula MLA Harish Dhami has openly praised the PM and CM. The Bharatiya Janata Party has praised the Congress MLA for rising above party lines and suggested that other leaders of his party should also learn from him and cooperate in the efforts for a developed Uttarakhand.
Responding to Dhami’s short video message shared on social media, the BJP State president Mahendra Bhatt appreciated the MLA for stating that Modi’s visit to the Kumaon region will help in the development of Adi Kailash and Manaskhand region. Bhatt said that the “Modi mission” is being appreciated in all quarters by people rising above social, regional and party lines. “The local people understand the major impact PM Modi’s visit to Adi Kailash and the Manaskhand region is going to have on the development of the region. This is why the Dharchula MLA sidelined political competition and praised PM Modi’s efforts. We are grateful to Harish Dhami for his sentiment. This is the manner in which other people also need to come forward for the development of Uttarakhand,” the BJP State president said.
Bhatt also criticised the statements made by the Pradesh Congress Committee president Karan Mahara and leader of the opposition Yashpal Arya regarding Modi’s visit and advised them to learn from the Dharchula MLA. Some time ago the Chhattisgarh deputy chief minister TS Singh Deo had appreciated the schemes of the Modi government aimed at welfare of the poor.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Dharchula MLA had shared a brief video message on social media on Saturday thanking PM Modi and chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. He has stated that Modi’s visit to Adi Kailash, Parvati Kund, Jageshwar and the border area Gunji will prove beneficial not only for the Kumaon region but also help boost tourism across Uttarakhand. He thanked the PM and CM on behalf of the people of his constituency.
