The State president of Bharatiya Janata Party Mahendra Bhatt praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s branding of the winter tourism at the inauguration of the National Games in Uttarakhand as highly encouraging. Bhatt expressed optimism that the PM’s suggestions and appeals will elevate the economic prospects of pilgrimage and tourism in the State. He said that Modi has always had a deep connection with the State, which has translated into significant historical development and welfare work since 2014 under his leadership.
Bhatt emphasised that Modi has functioned as an unannounced brand ambassador for the State’s four sacred shrines and the Manaskhand Temple, further boosting tourism and pilgrimage in the region. He stated that the PM’s renewed interest in the winter pilgrimage will give a significant boost to the State’s tourism sector, as Modi is one of the most popular and trusted leaders globally, whose words are closely followed by the people. He also said that Modi’s call to young people and athletes to participate in the winter pilgrimage could lead to revolutionary growth in the tourism sector.
He also referred to the PM’s remarks about Kedarnath, stating that the commitment to develop the country should be fulfilled by everyone, with visits to the sacred shrines being vital to the state’s economy. Bhatt said that the State government will focus not only on the Char Dham Yatra but also on alternative sources of income, using Modi’s branding to promote winter tourism. He also praised his support for the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), calling it an historic and promising step for the future.
