BJP condemns Rawat’s statement on projects launched

The Bharatiya Janata Party state spokesman Suresh Joshi has strongly objected to senior Congress leader and former chief minister Harish Rawat’s statement regarding the development projects launched recently by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the state.
Rawat had said that some of the development projects worth Rs 18,000 crore dated back to the tenure of the UPA government. Joshi said that Rawat keeps on making such flippant statements to remain in the news. Stating that Rawat is disconnected from ground realities, he said that even the public takes the statements made by Congress leaders lightly.
Questioning the statement made by Rawat, he asked whether even a rupee had been released for any of the said projects before May 26, 2014 when Manmohan Singh was the Prime Minister. He said, “Rawat should provide evidence if any money was released for the development projects. Regarding the rail project, it is laughable that at the last moment Rawat got it inaugurated by Sonia Gandhi without the money being approved and in the absence of a detailed project report. A sum of Rs 4,200 crore was approved for the project after the Modi government assumed office and presently tenders worth Rs 8,800 crore have been invited. Our work is visible on the ground while the Congress’ work is on papers.”
