The Bharatiya Janata Party has strongly condemned a viral video circulating on social media that targets the BJP State president Mahendra Bhatt. The party has urged the government to take strict legal action against those responsible, calling such attempts to promote violence under the guise of free expression unacceptable.

The State spokesperson Suresh Joshi described the symbolic act of blowing up an effigy in the video as highly objectionable and unfortunate. He stated that the party strongly denounces the actions of such disruptive elements, which reflect a mindset aimed at dividing society and inciting violence. Joshi said that individuals involved in making and encouraging such content are engaging in anti Uttarakhand activities.

According to him, “These elements have no interest in the ongoing development of the State, employment opportunities for youth or the transparent governance system. Instead, they allegedly spread misinformation and rumours on social media for attention, often with the backing of certain political parties.” Joshi further said that the depiction in the viral video serves as a warning to society. “While the Constitution grants freedom of expression, misusing it to promote criminal and anti-social activities cannot be justified. The party has appealed to the government to take strict legal action against those responsible for creating and circulating the video, emphasising the need to curb such acts that disrupt social harmony,” he said.
