The Bharatiya Janata Party State working committee meeting ended with a focus on efforts for a developed Uttarakhand for a developed nation. Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the BJP government had announced that it would implement the Uniform Civil Code before November 9. The UCC draft has been made public and the people will soon benefit from it. Targetting the opposition, Dhami said that there is a segment in the State which is consistently spreading lies and confusion along with rumours to orchestrate its conspiracy. “We have to work for making India a developed nation by 2047 along with making this Uttarakhand’s decade. We have to spread the energy and ideas to ensure that this idea of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is fulfilled. We have to carry his legacy forward. PM Modi is the first PM who brought development plans for border regions like Mana and Adi Kailash. We are considering these regions foremost and working on priority to ensure their desired development,” Dhami said.
The CM also expressed satisfaction at the recent report of the NITI Aayog regarding the sustainable development goals index which Uttarakhand topped. He said that PM Modi had been elected for the third consecutive term to office due to the public welfare schemes his government had executed and the development works it had done, along with the dedication of the party workers.
Union minister Manohar Lal Khattar said that the Congress is still relying on spreading lies. “The Congress is so habituated to lying that it is still saying the government under PM Modi is in minority even though the NDA has secured 290 seats. In 2004, the Congress-led UPA had secured only 225 seats and 262 seats in 2009 and both the times it had to take the assistance of the third front to form the government,” he said.
