BJP, Cong responsible for poor education system in U’khand, says Sisodia

Friday, 17 December 2021 | PNS | LALKUAN/Dehradun

The Delhi deputy chief minister and senior leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Manish Sisodia said that the successive governments of Congress and BJP have made the education system in the government schools pathetic rather than improving it in over two decades. He stated this after visiting a local government school in Lalkuan of Nainital district on the first day of his four-day tour to the Kumaon region on Thursday. He said the quality of government schools has fallen down in the past 21 years and it is depressing how students in Uttarakhand still have to study in such schools in the 21st century. “Students are forced to study in schools with tin roofs and sit on the floor for the classes. I interacted with some women of the area who told me that sanitation facilities are also bad in the school and the mid-day meal provided to students is also of bad quality.

They said that though many children study in the school, they remain worried about the future of their children,” stated Sisodia. He appealed to the public to eliminate such governments and political parties which have failed to provide basic facilities for the education and welfare of the children. Sisodia who is also the education minister of Delhi said that Delhi’s government schools were also in the same condition five years ago but now they provide world-class education. He said, “Students of Delhi’s government schools are clearing exams like NEET and IIT and if AAP comes to power the next year, children will also receive a world-class education in government schools here too.” The AAP leader will visit Bhowali and Almora on Friday, Kapkot on Saturday and Rudrapur on Sunday as a part of his four-day visit.
