In addition to campaigning in various parts of Kedarnath Assembly constituency for the ensuing bypoll, the Bharatiya Janata Party is also focusing on the natives of the area living in other States and exhorting them to come home for casting their votes. Stating that Uttarakhandis living in other States will play a major role in the Kedarnath bypoll, the BJP State president Mahendra Bhatt averred that they will support the party considering the development works facilitated. After interacting with migrant Uttarakhandis in Delhi on Saturday, he addressed the community at Ludhiana on Sunday. He exhorted the natives to come home to cast their votes in the Kedarnath bypoll for the development and prosperity of the Kedar Valley.

BJP State media in-charge Manveer Singh Chauhan said that a large number of natives of the Kedar valley are employed in Dehradun, Delhi, Ludhiana, Lucknow and other cities. These also include a large number of voters and the BJP wants them to use their democratic right in the bypoll. This is the reason why the BJP State chief has attended programmes of the community in Dehradun, Delhi and Ludhiana. Bhatt told the gathering that simply praising the development works carried out in the Kedarnath constituency will not suffice, adding that the support of all the eligible voters is necessary for further boosting the work of the double-engine government. Those who are not eligible to vote in Kedarnath can also help by communicating the party’s message of cultural nationalism to the voters of the constituency. “The BJP is aiming for a record voting percentage and achieving a victory with the highest margin so far in Kedarnath. This will put the public’s stamp of approval on the policy of development and heritage while also destroying the intention of those who may term the Kedarnath bypoll results as a defeat of Sanatan culture,” the BJP State president said.
