The Bharatiya Janata Party has expressed grief at the death of workers following the avalanche at Mana on Friday. The party’s State in-charge Dushyant Kumar Gautam and State president Mahendra Bhatt have termed this incident unfortunate while wishing a swift recovery to the injured workers and expressing satisfaction at the search and rescue operations under the State government. They have also appealed that one should abstain from making political statements on such a sensitive incident.

Gautam called the Mana incident tragic and expressed grief at the deaths while wishing for the safety of other workers. The rescue and relief operations were carried out swiftly despite inclement situations and this resulted in the safe rescue of the majority of the trapped workers. The manner in which chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami was once again seen leading to ensure an effective rescue operation shows the BJP government’s sensitivity and seriousness, he said.

Bhatt said that the Mana incident was exacerbated by the inclement weather and difficult conditions in the area. Many lives have been saved due to the prompt rescue carried out by the authorities despite which some lives were unfortunately lost. He appreciated the Army, ITBP, SDRF and the Police for the manner in which they conducted the operation. Bhatt also appealed to the opposition leaders to avoid making political statements at such a time, adding that in all such major incidents so far, the Dhami government has a good record in rescue and relief operations. All trust the efforts being undertaken at Mana, he said while adding that the opposition will get many opportunities in the future for politics and should presently avoid making statements on such a sensitive incident.
