The central leadership of BJP has announced names for former chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat and Rajya Sabha member Anil Baluni from Haridwar and Garhwal Lok Sabha constituencies respectively. With this the party has denied tickets to the former CMs and sitting MPs Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank and Tirath Singh Rawat.
Baluni who is the chief spokesperson of the BJP will take the challenge of former Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Ganesh Godiyal of Congress in Garhwal constituency. The Congress party has yet to announce the names of its candidates for Haridwar and Nainital seats.
