‘BJP focused on serving people, not gaining power’

The Bharatiya Janata Party national joint general secretary Shiv Prakash said that the BJP is motivated by the sense of standing with society in happiness and sorrow. With its intention to serve the people, the BJP has moved forward and will continue to do so. He said this at the state level workshop under national health volunteers campaign for training of volunteers for the possible third wave of Covid-19 here on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, Prakash said that the BJP will complete such workshops at the zonal level by August 10. “The party organisation decided after studying the first two waves of Covid-19 that our workers are responsible to society for raising awareness on a possible third wave. Gaining power has never been important for us, it is just provides an opportunity to work in a bigger range while other parties are queuing to gain power for themselves, running their establishing their own families. A positive culture is being established in the nation now which is causing disturbance to the opposition parties. We have always wished to serve the public while the opposition parties have always focused on enjoying the fruits of power without bothering about the welfare of society,” he said.

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the BJP governments at the Centre and State are consistently working in the interest of the people while the opposition parties have kept away from public welfare issues and focused more on spreading confusion. “During its term in office, the Congress repeatedly compromised with national interest and pushed the country back on the economic development front. We are also executing and fulfilling the announcements we are making. We are fully prepared to tackle the possible third wave of Covid. We are aiming to ensure that all in the state get at least the first dose of the Covid vaccine in the next four months,” said Dhami.

The BJP state president Madan Kaushik said that according to experts the Covid issue will persist for a long time. “This is why we are working to prepare national health volunteers. With their actions, the opposition parties tried to disturb us a number of times but it was our strong determination that enabled the nation to rise out of the difficult circumstances. We are not sure if the third wave will come or not but the BJP might be the first political party in the world concerned and preparing for it,” said the BJP state president.
