The Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Karan Mahara has said that the BJP government of Uttarakhand which takes credit for All Weather road has got exposed in the recent flash floods. He said that more than 200 roads in the State are closed due to landslides due to which the locals and tourists are facing problems.
Mahara said that heavy rains have also damaged the standing crops in different parts of the State. He said that important roads linking plains with mountainous areas have got damaged due to which the ration and relief materials are not able to reach affected areas. He demanded that immediate help should be provided to the people residing in affected areas. Mahara said that the district administration of Dehradun had made no arrangement for draining the storm water. He said that water logging in a large number of areas in Dehradun city has exposed the system. Mahara said that crores of rupees have been spent in the name of smart city but the city is in pathetic condition.
