BJP inflicts fifth consecutive defeat on Congress in U’khand

Though the Congressmen are finding solace in the good performance of the party in the general elections of 2024, the poor performance of the party in Uttarakhand has continued. To the chagrin of the Congress party the BJP is on a winning streak in the State ever since it bagged all the five parliamentary seats in 2014. Interestingly this washout of the Congress had taken place when it was in power in the State.
The BJP came to power in the State in the Assembly elections of 2017 and its candidates again secured landslide victories in the parliamentary election of 2019. Negating the anti-incumbency and the trend the BJP retained its power in the State in the Assembly elections of 2022. The defeat of all the five candidates in the LS elections of 2024 means that the Congress party has lost five consecutive elections to BJP in the State so far.
However, the Congress workers and leaders are finding a silver lining in the good performance of the party in other States.
