The Bharatiya Janata Party State president Mahendra Bhatt said that the trust of the people in the BJP has increased further due to the efforts being undertaken by the BJP government in the Centre and State for development. This will ensure that a government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be formed once again in the Centre and the BJP will win all the five Lok Sabha seats in Uttarakhand for the third consecutive time. Bhatt said this on Wednesday at the Shakti Vandan programme in Haridwar which marked the start of the party’s contact programme with women self help groups and non-governmental organisations. He also appealed to the party workers to unite and venture among the public.
Shakti Vandan State in-charge Lajwanti Jha said that the Central government is committed to the economic and social upliftment of women. PM Modi is consistently working for this and Shakti Vandan is a prime example of this.
BJP Mahila Morcha State president Asha Nautiyal said that the Mahila Morcha workers are publicising the schemes of the Central and State governments. The women’s self help group and NGO contact programme is part of these efforts. A congregation of students will also be held and they will be felicitated as part of this campaign, she added.
Health and Cooperation minister Dhan Singh Rawat said that the State government is working to provide better treatment to economically weaker people under the Ayushman Yojana. Cooperative banks are providing interest-free loans from which women self help groups are also benefitting. Women are becoming economically self-reliant due to such measures, he added.
The Agriculture and Rural Development minister Ganesh Joshi said that women in rural areas are being provided the benefit of Ujjwala Yojana. He said that more than one lakh women in the State will be made ‘Lakhpati Didis’ by 2025. The manner in which work is done for this, the target will be achieved soon through self help groups, the minister added.
