BJP leader Jugran seeks Doon mayoral candidacy

Bharatiya Janata Party leader and social activist Ravinder Jugran has formally expressed his desire to contest for the mayoral position in Dehradun in the upcoming municipal elections.
In a detailed letter to the BJP leadership, Jugran highlighted his long-standing association with the party, beginning in 1997 under the leadership of then-state BJP president Manohar Kant Dhyani. He emphasised his extensive political experience, including key roles such as vice chairman of the State Youth Welfare Council. He recalled his active participation in the Ram Mandir movement, leadership in student politics and significant contributions to the Uttarakhand statehood movement, which included multiple imprisonments. Jugran also underlined his efforts in filing over 25 public interest litigations on issues like corruption, education and healthcare.
A native of Tehri district, Jugran has been active in Dehradun for over three decades. Jugran said that he is known for his integrity and commitment to public welfare and is seeking the party’s support to continue serving the city and its residents as mayor, pledging to uphold transparency and ethical governance.
