Appreciating the work of the party workers for the victory in the Kedarnath Assembly bypoll, the Bharatiya Janata Party national general secretary BL Santhosh exhorted them to work seriously and in coordination to continue the winning trend in the coming Urban Local Body elections. He said this while attending a meeting of party office bearers regarding the ULB polls in the party’s State office here on the first day of his two-day State tour on Friday.

He said that the BJP contests elections not just with the aim of victory but also for ensuring good governance. “The results of elections across the nation show that we are moving forward in the right direction under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. In Uttarakhand too, we performed well in the Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections and emerged victorious. With the latest victory in the Kedarnath bypoll we have to move forward with energy to continue the trend in the elections for municipal corporations, municipalities and Nagar Panchayats. Instead of the opposition, we have to consider our own past statistics as the challenge and make our best effort,” be said.

The BJP State in-charge Dushyant Kumar Gautam also exhorted the party workers to continue the winning trend. Claiming that the party is sure to win in the coming elections, he stressed on the need to focus on the strategy and ensuring that the public is made fully aware of the works of the government and activities of the party.

The BJP State president Mahendra Bhatt stressed on the need for further enhancing the paty’s booth management. The ULB elections will be announced on time and the names of the candidates will also be finalised soon, he said.
