The Bharatiya Janata Party Mahila Morcha will organise protests in various parts of the State to protest against what it alleges was the conspiracy of the Congress and other opposition parties in the alleged Champawat gangrape of a minor, which was later proven to be false. The protests and Press conferences on this issue will be held till May 11 in the State, party sources said.
The Mahila Morcha State president Ruchi Bhatt alleged that the Congress and other opposition parties are consistently attempting to confuse the women, youths and society. “They painted the Champawat case in a political colour in an attempt to defame the BJP government and party organisation, which the women of the State will not allow. The BJP has always stood in favour of respect for women, security and justice while the Congress has always worked to politically exploit the sentiments of women,” she said.
Bhatt alleged that the opposition parties intend to spread an atmosphere of anarchy in a planned manner in the State but the people of Uttarakhand are well aware of this conspiracy. The Mahila Morcha will inform the people about the real facts of the case and expose the duplicity of the Congress, she said. Various women leaders of the party have been designated to lead the protests and address the media in different parts of the State. The Mahila Morcha will become the voice of the State’s women and give a befitting reply to the negative politics of the Congress and other opposition parties, Bhatt added.
