Cabinet minister and BJP star campaigner Satpal Maharaj campaigned for the BJP’s Vidisha Lok Sabha constituency candidate Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Sunday. Addressing a public gathering after a roadshow in Vidisha city in Madhya Pradesh, Maharaj said that the BJP’s election manifesto is Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guarantee of making India a developed nation by 2047. In addition to abrogation of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir and facilitating the construction of a grand Ram Mandir in Ayodhya after resolution of the 500-year old dispute, Modi has enhanced the nation’s position in political and strategic affairs on the global stage. With his large base of strong supporters, former MP chief minister Chouhan is known across the nation because of his works, he said. Maharaj said, “Chouhan had started his politics from Vidisha and is contesting from this constituency after a gap of 30 years. He had won the parliamentary election from Vidisha for the first time in 1991. After assuming charge as the MP CM for the first time in 2005, he built a new identity for himself on the basis of his work. His schemes like Ladli Lakshmi helped the State develop a new identity in the nation.”
Referring to the BJP’s election manifesto, the cabinet minister said that it is not just a Sankalp Patra but a document of Prime Minister Modi’s guarantee to make India a developed nation by 2047. He said that so far the Modi government has made four crore pucca homes for the poor and has committed to making three crore more homes for the poor in its poll manifesto. He also spoke about the various other developments guaranteed by the party in its election manifesto.
