The Bharatiya Janata Party State president Mahendra Bhatt thanked the voters for participating in the Lok Sabha election on Friday. Expressing satisfaction at the efforts of the party workers, he expressed confidence that votes were cast overwhelmingly in favour of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Pursuing the policy of ‘Pehle Matdan Fir Jalpan’, Bhatt cast his vote at a polling booth in his Brahmanthala village in the morning. In a statement released to the media, he said that the party has received feedback from its workers in all the 11,729 polling booths in the State. “Accepting the Modi Pranam received through the party workers, the voters have shown their determination to re-elect PM Modi to a third term with their votes. The enthusiasm of the voters clearly shows that they want to move forward on the decisive journey to make India developed under PM Modi’s leadership. The manner in which the voters exercised their franchise, we are confident that the BJP will win all the five seats in Uttarakhand while the Modi Parivar will cross the 400 mark,” the BJP State president said.
Rejecting the allegations levelled by the opposition, Bhatt said that the allegations are baseless and a result of the certain defeat which the opposition is expecting. He said, “The people have now understood the opposition’s attempts for many years to blame the EVMs, police administration and Election Commission for their defeat. They never find any defects when they win an election, which they term as a victory of democracy. Whenever the BJP wins, they blame it on defects in the electoral process and state that democracy is in danger. In reality, as across the nation, in Uttarakhand too most of the senior leaders had refused to contest the election considering the Modi wave. Out of those who contested the election as a formality, most are anxious about not forfeiting their deposit considering the trend of the voting. By levelling baseless allegations, the Congress is simply preparing the grounds for its defeat,” Bhatt added.
