In latest news from Doon, the election management committee meeting of the ruling BJP is slated on Thursday during which the State party brass may zero in on the candidates for the Urban Local Body polls slated across the State on January 23. Besides, the State party leaders will churn on the aspirants for the posts of the chairpersons of municipal councils and nagar panchayats. Then the panel of three names for each of such posts will be sent to the party high command with suggestions. The names will be announced after the party’s central leadership puts its seal.
A senior State BJP leader said that following discussion with the election observers, MLAs and district leaders, the panels had been made and they would again brainstorm on these panels at Thursday’s meeting.
