BJP to continue opposing Congress’ wrongdoings for appeasement: Bhatt

The Bharatiya Janata Party has rejected allegations levelled by the Congress and stated that the Congress expects nobody should talk about its wrongdoings for appeasement, which is impossible. BJP State president and Rajya Sabha member Mahendra Bhatt said that demography or national security might be a political issue for the Congress but these are matters of ideology and social responsibility for the BJP. Responding to the media on Thursday, he said, “When conspiracies to change the State’s demography and carry out religious conversion are exposed, the Congress appears to be troubled the most. The finger is often pointed towards Congress governments and leaders in most of such cases. In all the cases, their leaders are seen opposing Sanatan Dharm and standing in favour of their vote bank formed by a particular community. They become involved with those conspiring to mar Devbhumi’s image and the peaceful atmosphere here. Instead of levelling allegations at the BJP, senior Congress leaders should self-evaluate,” Bhatt said.

He further said that regarding the Dhaulas land case, the Congress is talking on varied aspects but has not said a word of criticism for persons from the particular community or land mafia from outside the State reportedly involved in the matter. Bhatt further claimed that the State government took action against encroachers in the Vanbhulpura area of Haldwani and also demolished unauthorised religious structures in the State. The BJP has always supported the government in action taken against conspiracies to change the demography. He accused the Congress of playing politics by supporting conspirators and anarchists while repeatedly making false claims about followers of a particular religion being persecuted. “The Congress indulges in appeasement politics, insults Sanatan, attempts to spoil the State’s image and supports those tampering with national security while expecting the society and BJP to not oppose and remain silent. This is impossible. These might be political issues for the Congress but cultural nationalism is the main mantra of our organisation,” the BJP State president said.
