Following the protests held on Saturday by the Congress across the State in support of its demand for a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the Ankita Bhandari murder case, the Bharatiya Janata Party has decided to stage demonstrations across the State on Sunday to “expose the conspiracy of the Congress”. The BJP will burn the Congress in effigy for its “unethical conspiracy-based” politics on Sunday. The BJP Mahila Morcha will lead the demonstrations in which the Yuva Morcha workers will “expose the Congress” in all the organisation district headquarters of the party in the State.
The BJP state general secretary Kundar Parihar alleged that the leaders of the Congress and other opposition political parties have been playing despicable politics on the death of Bhandari. “Adding new names to the case without any evidence, they are attempting to defame BJP leaders, mar the image of Uttarakhand and the memory of the departed victim. The BJP leadership has now decided to expose the conspiracy of the opposition in this case,” he said.
On the directions of the BJP State president and Rajya Sabha member Mahendra Bhatt, the party’s Mahila Morcha in coordination with the Yuva Morcha will stage demonstrations in the 19 organisational districts of the party on Sunday. The party workers will burn the effigy of the Congress and tell the public about its “conspiracy”, the party’s general secretary said.
