BJP to link Seva Pakhwada with disaster relief campaign

The Bharatiya Janata Party will celebrate Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday on September 17 as Seva Pakhwada, which will continue until Gandhi Jayanti on October 2. The party has planned to link this fortnight with disaster relief campaigns to assist in the relief works.

Additionally, cleanliness drives, health camps, awareness rallies, blood donation camps, exhibitions, cultural events and community conferences at the divisional and Assembly levels to ensure public participation.

According to the State media in-charge Manveer Singh Chauhan, the programmes have been finalised after a virtual meeting with BJP national general secretary Radha Mohan Das Agrawal, in the presence of State president and Rajya Sabha MP Mahendra Bhatt and State general secretary (organisation) Ajey Kumar. He said that the party has prepared the State-level action plan, which will be shared in district-level meetings.

Bhatt said that the service programmes during the fortnight will provide opportunities for workers to serve people and also support relief efforts in areas affected by monsoon-related disasters. He added that the party will use the platform to spread awareness about central and state government schemes so that people can benefit from them.

Chauhan said that the programmes will include exhibitions on Modi’s life, intellectual conferences, youth events and recognition of talent in sports, culture and social service. Responsibilities for effective implementation have been assigned to MPs, MLAs, district presidents, office bearers and workers to maximise public involvement, he added.
