BJP to mark Mann Ki Baat, Igas & State foundation day on elaborate scale

The Bharatiya Janata Party will observe three important programmes- Prime Minister’s Mann Ki Baat, the traditional festival of Igas and the State’s foundation day in an elaborate manner with the public. Informing about this, the BJP State president Mahendra Bhatt said that the aim of the party is to maximise public participation in these three programmes. The chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, former chief ministers, party’s State general secretary (Organisation), the MPs and MLAs of the party along with all office bearers of the party from the State to the Mandal level will participate in these programmes.

Addressing the media at the BJP State office here on Friday, Bhatt said that at the organisational level, the party will mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Mann Ki Baat, the State’s traditional Igas festival which is part of Uttarakhand’s heritage and the State foundation day on November 9 in an elaborate manner. He said that the party’s intention is to maximise public participation in these events of cultural, social and political identity which are also inspirational. PM Modi’s Mann Ki Baat on October 30 will be heard at the booth level with the public under the party’s State general secretary Rajendra Bisht as convenor. CM Dhami will listen to the PM’s address at Nehru Colony in Raipur Assembly constituency, Bhatt will be present in booth number 11 in Rishikesh, former CM Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ in Haridwar and former CM Trivendra Singh Rawat in Vikasnagar. All the MPs, MLAs and State office bearers of the party will listen to the PM’s address at various booths across the State.

Bhatt said that, part of the State’s rich cultural heritage Igas which is called Budhi Diwali in Kumaon will be celebrated on a large scale by the party in the villages and booths. State convenors and in-charges of the organisational districts have been appointed by the paty for this purpose. It has been decided that these office bearers will coordinate with the party and also motivate as many non resident Uttarakhandis as possible to celebrate Igas in their native villages.

Bhatt further informed that the party will also celebrate the State foundation day at various levels across the State with the public. Seminars on the current decade being Uttarakhand’s decade will be organised in Dehradun and Nainital regions. Family members of those who died in the Statehood movement and those who were jailed during the movement will also be felicitated on the occasion. Party leaders have been appointed to coordinate efforts for managing this activity at various levels across the State, he added.
