BJP to step up campaigning for Lok Sabha elections

As part of its electoral campaign for the Lok Sabha elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party will organise street gatherings in 7,000 locations in addition to its larger campaign meetings.The BJP State president Mahendra Bhatt said that the beneficiary contact programme was successful with 1,02,785 beneficiaries being contacted by party workers so far. He said that Uttarakhand is fourth in the nation in the implementation of this campaign. The party will now focus on taking it down to the booth level and bring about qualitative improvements in it.

Regarding the virtual meeting he had with the BJP national president JP Nadda, Bhatt said that in addition to large public gatherings, the party will also hold street gatherings on a large scale. The party is planning to hold 7,000 street gatherings in each Vidhan Sabha constituency in which the chief minister, party’s State president, ministers, MLAs and party workers, totalling to 7,000 will be present. About the collection of suggestions for the party’s manifesto, Bhatt said that all the suggestions will be received soon at the State level. The sugestions received from various avenues will be categorised on the basis of State and national issues and these will be sent to the party’s central leadership. The central leadership of the party will then finalise and declare the party manifesto.  Regarding the party’s election campaign activities, the BJP State president said that the party will organise ex-servicemen gatherings in Dehradun, Srinagar, Haldwani and Roorkee. The party will also communicate with lawyers and legal experts in all district headquarters and in places where their presence is considerable. The party will hold similar interactions with retired government employees in Dehradun, Haldwani and Haridwar.

Informing about the special programmes to mark completion of two years of the State government in office under Pushkar Singh Dhami as the chief minister, Bhatt said that Press conferences will be held in all the organisational district headquarters.
