BJP’s concern justified, Congress looking for excuses as usual: Chauhan

The Bharatiya Janata Party has stated that its complaint against the central observer in the Bageshwar Assembly by-election is against his stance and that the concern of the party regarding the harassment of its workers is justified. However, the Congress is spinning tall tales alleging harassement merely to find excuses to the impending result of the by-poll, the BJP said.

The BJP State media in-charge Manveer Singh Chauhan averred that the Congress has tried all tricks in the Bageshwar Assembly by-election. However, all its attempts at propaganda have not succeeded. “The Congress is not going to achieve anything by first trying to instigate the youths and then spinning a yarn about the harassment of the fourth pillar of democracy. This has been an old problem with the Congress- it makes various claims before an election and then either before or after the polling it blames the government machinery for the election results,” said Chauhan.

He further said that the BJP has no complaints on the fairness of the election process whereas the Congress is worried about the election results. The people of Bageshwar have made up their minds and they will decide for the betterment of the constituency while casting their votes on Tuesday. The Congress needs to exercise patience, added Chauhan.
