BJP’s ploy of changing face would fail- Cong

The BJP’s ploy of changing the face of government and organisation in Uttarakhand would not succeed because the basic questions facing the government are still there, the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Pritam Singh said this during an interaction with the media persons at Congress Bhawan on Friday. He said that the central leadership of the BJP vindicated the stand of the Congress party that development and other activities have ceased in Uttarakhand by changing the chief minister. He said that the internal differences in the Uttarakhand BJP have not decreased by change of leadership.

The PCC president reminded that when the BJP government came into power in Uttarakhand in the year 2017 after an overwhelming majority in the assembly, the then Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat in his first press conference had claimed to adopt a ‘zero tolerance on corruption’. “The CM had promised to bring Lokayukta within 100 days but the promise remained unfulfilled. He had also announced a CBI inquiry on the land acquisition and compensation scam in the NH-74 which was never fulfilled,’’ he said.

The PCC president retreated that the BJP is only concerned with the election and its every rhetoric it adopts is guided by it. He said that the government got fully exposed during the budget session at Gairsain where instead of discussions on budget and continuing the session in the interest of the state, the session was adjourned in haste and the MLAs were flown from Bharadisain to Dehradun to save the government. He added that the questions like plight of farmers, the unfulfilled promise of loan waiver to farmers, the jobs to unemployed, the increasing corruption, the failure to manage the natural disaster, the plight of Teerth Purohits and the spiralling prices still remain at their place.

Habituated BJP now destabilising own govt- PCC

PNS/ DehradunTaking a dig at the BJP, the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Pritam Singh said that the party has got so habitual for destabilising the governments that now it has destabilised its own government in Uttarakhand. “Till now they were destabilising the Congress governments. They have made it a habit and now they have destabilised their own government here,’’ he said.
