Block level training of Panchayat representatives organised

In a major training programme being organised in all the development blocks of 11 districts of Uttarakhand, the Panchayati Raj department is imparting training to the Panchayat representatives.
These programmes were organised in all the districts barring Almora due to enforcement of model code of conduct for the Salt by election and Haridwar where the process of election of Panchayats is underway. The training sessions are being provided under the aegis of centrally funded ‘Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan’.
The two day training programme in the 78 blocks of 11 districts ended on Saturday. In the programme the Village Pradhans and Members of Block Panchayats were trained on the various aspects of the Panchayati Raj. The officials of all the linear departments associated the local self governance. On Saturday the District Magistrate (DM) of Pauri Vijay Kumar Jogdande gave information about the Panchayati Raj at the auditorium of Kot block of Pauri. He also distributed certificates to the participants.
The department officials informed that the department would now organise a two day training programme at Nyay Panchayat level for the members of village panchayats and the village level employees of the linear departments of Panchayati Raj.
