BOB launches Baroda Jan Dhan Plus

Bank of Baroda launched “Baroda Jan Dhan Plus” scheme at its Bareilly zonal office in association with Women World Banking (WWB). The objective of the scheme is to promote financial literacy among the masses and use of Jan-Dhan account for long-term financial security. Under this scheme, more than 52 lakh Jan Dhan customers of 25 districts of Uttar Pradesh and 13 districts of Uttarakhand will be benefitted. The bank’s chief general manager Sanjeev Dobhal, general manager. Archana Pandey and others were present.
The main objective of the programme is to inculcate the habit of regular savings among the Jan Dhan customers. Under this programme, the PMJDY customer will get an opportunity to become eligible for overdraft of up to Rs10,000 under PMJDY scheme by depositing and withdrawing at least Rs 500 per month in his Jan Dhan account for five months as per the prescribed guidelines of the bank.
