Bank of India rolled out Mahila Samman Savings Certificate 2023 at all its branches on Monday. The MD and CEO of the bank Rajneesh Karnatak inaugurated the rollout through video conferencing. Among those who were present at the inauguration session were the executive directors of the bank P R Rajagopal and M Karthikeyan.
Karnatak informed that Bank of India has operationalised the scheme at all its branches. “All the branches of Bank of India are now authorised to open the account under Mahila Samman Savings Certificate 2023,” he said.
Notably, this flagship scheme was announced by the Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman during her Budget speech on February 1. In the scheme, a woman can open Mahila Samman Savings Certificate on behalf of a minor girl. The minimum investment is of Rs 1000 and any sum in multiples of Rs 100 may be deposited in an account up to a maximum limit of Rs 2, 00, 000.
