Students of primary and secondary levels of Kendriya Vidyalaya No II Roorkee have exchanged books among themselves under the book-gift scheme of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan.
In the primary section, the children of class II collected books for the children of class I while the students of class III gifted good condition books used by them in the previous session to the students of class II. Likewise, the children of class V gifted books to the children of class IV and the children of class IV gifted books to the children of class III. In the same way, the children of upper classes from class VI to class VIII gifted books to the students of their lower classes with the same sequence having continued in the upper classes. About 500 children of the school enthusiastically participated in this book-gift scheme.
Speaking on the occasion, Arvind Kumar, the Principal of the school, said that this way they can save green trees from being cut by gifting books.
