The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has announced in-charges for five constituencies in Uttarakhand ahead of the 2022 assembly elections on Tuesday. It has claimed to have about 40,000 strong vote banks of the party in each of these constituencies. Addressing media persons in Press Club in Dehradun, the state in-charge of the party, Shamshuddin Raaen said that Mohammad Shahzad, Aditya Brijlal, Surender Chaudhary, Surender Saini and Darshan Kumar Sharma have been appointed as in-charge of five constituencies-Laksar, Jhabreda, Khanpur, Piran Kaliyar and Haridwar (rural) respectively.
The state in-charge said that on the directions of the national convenor of the party, Mayawati, all the appointed in-charges belong to diverse castes as a part of the social engineering of the party. “Our in-charges include candidates from a Brahmin to a Dalit family by Mayawati on the basis of social engineering. BSP is the only party across the party that focuses on it for the future development,” stated Raaen. He said that their chances of winning from these seats are very high as BSP has about 40,000 confirmed votes in each of these five constituencies. He also informed that these in-charges will also contest elections from their respective constituencies and the party will soon issue a notification for the same. He said that the party will contest elections from all 70 seats and will soon release names of all candidates.
On the question of whether the BSP will form an alliance with Congress or BJP to form the government next year, Raaen said that their party has never had and never will form an alliance to form a government.
