The leader of opposition (LoP) in the State Assembly Yashpal Arya has said that the budget presented in the Vidhan Sabha on Tuesday is nothing but jugglery of data.
He said that the budget of the government that has failed on all fronts has disappointed everyone in the State. Arya said that in view of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections everyone was hoping that the government would provide some relief from the increasing unemployment and prevailing economic depression but these hopes were dashed in the budget.
The LoP said that employees were hoping that the government would accept their demand for restoration of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) and the farmers were demanding a minimum support price but the budget has nothing for them. Arya said that the BJP government is boasting about the success of the global investors summit but the fact is that a provision of Rs 65 crore was made in last year’s budget for the summit and it was wasted on foreign visits.
