Welcoming the budget tabled by the State government in the Assembly on Tuesday, the Bharatiya Janata Party State president Madan Kaushik said that it is aimed at public welfare and an important step towards making this decade Uttarakhand’s decade. He congratulated chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami for making provision in the budget for promises made in the party’s vision document including three free cooking gas cylinders per year to Antyodaya card holders and implementation of Uniform Civil Code among others. Kaushik said that the budget is based on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas’. “This budget makes it clear that the BJP government fulfills the promises it makes. An attempt has been made in the budget to fulfill all the promises made by the party to the public in its election manifesto including UCC, three free cylinders to Antyodaya card holders, free books to all students in classes IX to XII, protection of bovines and work to mitigate migration. Attention has been given to all aspects related to the public including agriculture and industry. For the all round development of the State, the government took suggestions from all sections of society and prepared the budget on the basis of these suggestions,” said Kaushik.
Focus has been laid on all sectors and sections in the budget to facilitate development of the State. A concrete strategy has been made to check migration from various districts of Garhwal and Kumaon for which reverse migration will be facilitated. Migration will be checked by focusing on agriculture, industry and tourism in villages, he said.
