Budget of Rs 1, 01,175 Cr presented with focus on infrastructure

In latest news from Uttarakhand, the Finance minister Premchand Aggarwal has presented the budget of Rs 1, 01,175 crore for the financial year 2025-26 with focus on infrastructure development, human resources and environmental conservation. In his address, the minister said that the budget aimed to address the State’s pressing development needs within the framework of fiscal responsibility. “It reflects the government’s vision to build a sustainable, prosperous Uttarakhand, fostering growth across key sectors that will benefit its citizens,” he said.
Key Features
Revenue: The budget estimates total receipts of Rs 60,677 crore, marking an increase of 11 per cent from 2023-24.
Expenditure: The budget estimates expenditure of Rs 70,094 crore, marking an increase of 13 per cent from 2023-24.
Debt: The budget estimates debt repayment of Rs 19,137 crore.
GSDP: The budget projects the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) to be Rs 3, 94, 675 crore, which is a growth of 14 per cent from the last financial year.
Infrastructure: The budget focuses on large-scale infrastructure projects, including the Sharda and Ganga Corridors.
While Rs 14, 763 crore has been kept aside for infrastructure development Rs 164 crore has been proposed for rural development and pisciculture. Besides, Rs 166 crore is proposed to be spent for the development of Haridwar and Rishikesh, Rs 10 crore has been allocated for riverfront development and Rs 6.5 crore for running electric buses as part of Smart City projects.
