The Assembly speaker Ritu Khanduri adjourned the budget session sine die on Thursday. The house passed the Rs 89,230 crore budget for the financial year 2024-25 by voice vote on the day. The Assembly was adjourned by the speaker after the passage of the budget which was preceded by the walkout by the members of the opposition Congress party. The Congress members expressed dismay at what they called denial of opportunity to express their views on the budget and staged a walkout from the house.
