The Kumaun Garhwal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KGCCI) lauded several proposals of the Union Budget presented in the Lok Sabha by the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday. Commenting on the budget, the president, KGCCI Ashok Bansal mentioned, in particular, the proposed launch of the credit guarantee scheme for the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), hailing it as a boon for the MSME sector. He also dubbed the proposed increase the Mudra Loan limit from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 20 lakh as a shot in the arm for the small entrepreneurs who have availed the loan and repaid successfully.
Bansal further hailed the Centre’s initiatives in increasing production volume of pulses and oil seeds, saying that these would help India become self-sufficient in their production. Also, he welcomed the Budget proposal of boosting the infrastructural network which would in turn accelerate the pace of industrialisation.
