Build quarters for ASHA workers in Dehradun: Bansal

Dehradun district magistrate Savin Bansal instructed officials to develop a plan to construct Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA) Ghar and dormitories in the unused rooms of every government hospital in Dehradun. He said this while speaking at programme held on Monday, where he interacted with ASHA workers to address the rising cases of dengue.
The programme was organised to intensively monitor dengue and malaria, along with understanding the challenges faced by the personnel working at ground zero, as well as finding solutions to these challenges. Bansal emphasised the need for field personnel to carry out their responsibilities with pride, responsibility and confidence. He also instructed high-level officers and office personnel to address the issues faced by the ground zero workers. Further, he directed the chief medical officer (CMO) to ensure timely payment to the ASHA personnel and to enhance facilities and personnel for them. Additionally, he has also instructed CMO to develop an action plan for constructing residential facilities and dormitories in the vacant rooms of hospitals. Additionally, he highlighted that health is a top priority for everyone, and the responsibility of field personnel, along with government administration, is crucial in these tasks to keep the higher authorities informed about the area’s situation.
Further, CMO Dr Sanjay Jain said the DM that the honorarium received from the State budget has been paid to ASHA workers until August. The incentives for ASHA workers for various programmes under NHM have been paid until June. The demand for incentives for the months of July, August and September has been submitted to the NHM Office in Uttarakhand. This payment will be processed as soon as the budget is received, he added.
