In an important declaration, the Uttarakhand government has relieved the teachers from doing duties not associated with teaching. Making the announcement in a programme held at the Education directorate here on Tuesday, the Education minister Dhan Singh Rawat said that from now onwards the teachers would not be deployed as the Booth Level Officers (BLO) for election related works. He said that the Anganwadi workers would be given BLO duty.
The minister added that all the schools of the state would be made online in the state which will help in relieving the teachers from the work of maintaining a large number of registers in the schools. He said that all these steps are being taken with an objective that teachers devote their entire energy and time for imparting education to the students. The announcement of the minister would result in reducing a major burden from the shoulders of more than 72,000 teachers of government schools of Uttarakhand.
